It's time to Wake up and Smell the Poetry once again for a new season of poetry, original songs and more at the warm and welcoming studios at HCAM-TV in Hopkinton, Massachusetts. In fact, this is the 13th season of this free program offering of performance and literary arts for community which takes place on the third Saturday morning of each month from October-April.

St. Paul's "Blessing of the Animals" on October 14th

Creatures of all species are invited to receive a special blessing at St. Paul’s Annual Blessing of the Animals on October 14.

Dogs, cats, and others of God’s creatures – and their human friends – are invited to a special ceremony being held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 61 Wood Street (Rte 135) in Hopkinton. The Blessing of the Animals will take place outside the church at 10:00 a.m., followed by a “Pet Friendly” service of the Holy Eucharist. All are welcome to attend, although we ask that dogs be leashed and other animals be properly contained.

Enter Stage Left's Wicked 5K a spooky road race fundraiser

Hopkinton’s Enter Stage Left Theater’s annual 5K fun run/walk is filled with spooky goblins, fairy princesses, and goofy characters cheering you on, offering water, and entertaining you throughout the course. Participants are encouraged to dress up as well. All proceeds go to Enter Stage Left Theater (www.hopartscenter.org). The event takes place Sunday October 28th starting at 9am!

Gretta is a super friendly older gal who is sure to win your heart! She loves to be by your side, going out for a long walk or chilling out on the couch. She's happiest riding in the car, soaking up the sun in the yard, or finding a cozy spot in the house to hang out. Her foster mom says Gretta has a special way with people. "My kids say Gretta has human's eyes. Her eyes tell you stories of her life, she has been there done that, she has seen a lot yet she still opens to love. Gretta is super playful and likes squeaky toys and rope toys.

Please join the Hopkinton Historical Society, 168 Hayden Rowe, Saturday Oct. 13 at 11:00 am when Prof. Eric Johnson from the UMass Dept. of Archaeology discusses the Native American artifacts from the Cheney family collection. Prof. Johnson & his team have identified and inventoried the artifacts for us and will share their findings. We will have some of the artifacts on display that day. Also, if you have an item (stone, arrowhead, etc) you may have found and are curious about its origins, bring it along - one item only please.
