Community Notice: Severe Drought Watering Restrictions

Due to the continued severe drought, watering restrictions remain in place. No lawn watering is permitted. The only permitted uses are the hand watering of plants, shrubs, or gardens before 9 AM or after 5 PM. Also for Health or Safety reasons; for the production of food and fiber; for the maintenance of livestock; or to meet core functions of a business. We are now at over an 8” rain deficit for the year with no significant rain in sight through the remainder of the month. Anyone that still has their lawn sprinklers on, needs to shut them off immediately!

New Study & Enrichment Program at the HCA Day Program For Students on a Hybrid Learning Plan

Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA) introduces a new day-time program where kids can come to do their schoolwork while having the opportunity to participate in creative programs in the fine arts, movement, and theater. The Study & Enrichment Program is open to students in Grades 2 through 8 and is available in a half or extended day option. COVID safety protocols remain in place at the HCA and class size is limited to ten to ensure proper social distancing. While the program is geared towards kids in the Hopkinton School District, students from any district may attend.

Community Notice: Water Discoloration Due to Major Fire

Please be advised that due to a major fire on Main Street, there may be air and discoloration in the water. Please let your cold water run to help clear your lines.

Means-tested senior (tax) exemption program

Means-tested senior (tax) exemption program - NEW UPDATE

The deadline to submit the application for the Hopkinton Means Tested Senior Exemption is typically August 31st. Since some individuals may not have filed their State Tax Return yet (and the CB form that is a requirement for this exemption) we have extended the filing deadline this year to September 30, 2020 for the Means Tested Senior Exemption application.

Please go to the town website for the application form and/or call the Assessor’s Office if you have any questions.

-We are open for quick browsing from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on weekdays.
-A mask covering the nose and mouth is required.
-There will be limited people allowed in the building at one time.
-Solo browsing is encouraged.

Your responses regarding the quality of services, public trust, and community characteristics are extremely important to us. The survey results may be used by staff, elected officials, and other stakeholders for community planning and resource allocation, program improvement, and policymaking.
